The Engels airfield is located 600 kilometers from the border with Ukraine and is often used to strike strategic bombers. The Russian army probably kept a number of aviation ammunition used in the war with Ukraine on this basis. Significant losses will make the enemy change the frequency of blows from the airfield in the short term, analysts emphasized. Maxar satellite photos indicate that the Russians lost ammunition stored in bins and warehouses next to the Engels airfield.
After a strike of the Armed Forces, some warehouses disappeared and they are visible fragments, black spots and burnt places. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will now deal with the problems of protection of the Augels-2 air base and filling the explosive shells. With a high probability, aviation will also have to be dispersed in the nearby airfields. "It has already become a standard practice in response to Ukrainian blows deep into Russia," the intelligence is emphasized.
