Explosions at the military airfield in the occupied Crimea weaken the enemy, and...

It weakens the enemy. As explosions in the Crimea influenced the occupiers, and why the Ukrainian air defense started to knock down missiles better

Explosions at the military airfield in the occupied Crimea weaken the enemy, and new anti -radios can destroy Russian air defense in the territory uncontrolled by Ukraine, says Yuri Ignat, a spokesman for the Air Force. On August 9, a new page opened in the history of the Russian-Ukrainian war: for the first time in eight years of occupation in the Crimea, explosions at the military aerodrome.

As a result, as reported by the US edition of CNN, Russia has suffered the greatest losses in aviation a day since World War II. Neither Ukrainian nor Russian forces recognized what was the result of a blow. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation explained the explosions "detonation of several aviation ammunition".

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, for its part, said it could not determine the cause of the "fire" in the airfield, but reminded of "fire safety rules and banning smoking in unidentified places. " But most international and domestic experts, as well as reputable Western media, are convinced that explosions on the Russian military base were the result of an Armed Forces attack.

NV asked the spokesman of the Air Force of Ukraine Yuri Ignat, as such explosions in the Crimea weaken the enemy, as well as that it helps today Ukrainian air defense (air defense) to beat the hostile rockets more efficiently. - On August 9, powerful explosions were heard at the military airfield in the Crimea. To what extent does this incident be a serious blow to the enemy? -removal of any airfield failure [weakens the enemy].

In particular, one that is near our borders in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Saki airport in Novofedorovka is constantly used by [Russian] aircraft to patrol the Black Sea basin. And this provides some support for the occupation troops of the naval forces-ships. There is a comprehensive support from the Crimea coastline by means of air defense, as well as from the air, those ships can cover fighters that were based and based there.

And this is Su-30cm (similar to our Su-27), Su-24m bombers, some transport aircraft-IL-76md, perhaps helicopters. Satellite images on the eve of these explosions show that there were many aviation equipment and weapons. Therefore, an airfield, which is 200 km from the Ukrainian border, is a potentially serious threat. Aircraft in 24/7 mode were constantly flying from it. And when the snake was occupied by Russia, between him and Sevastopol the planes were pursuing in a circle, patrolling.

This strategic importance is this airfield. Just like other airfields in Crimea, which are about five: Dzhankoy, where their technique, Belbek and others are. These are our former airfields where Air Force Air. - What happens to the airfield in Novofedorovka? - They beat all our airfields [at the beginning of a full -scale invasion], but we somehow restore them and do it quickly.

The fact is that if warehouses with fuel and lubricants have exploded, rocket-artillery weapons, if the planes are destroyed and the runway is damaged, then it will all need recovery for some time. Therefore, the fact that a whole airfield with aircraft and ammunition is disrupted is great news for us. - Where else should such explosions occur to significantly weaken Russia in the air? - But everywhere should happen. They have dozens of airfields in Russia and Belarus.

Starting from Crimea and in any major city in Russia there are military airfields around the borders of Ukraine. Similarly, in Belarus, they [Russians] use all military airfields to base their aviation, the placement of anti-aircraft missile systems and the operative-tactical complexes of Iskander, point-y. Everything is fully used and used. The only thing they realized that they could happen somewhere as they say "boys" and place their aviation a little away.

However, their aviation activity in the sky is constant. We are constantly seeing up to 20 aircraft on the radar. They are marked with their red color: they run constantly around Ukraine - from Belarus to Crimea. And these are planes of different types: UAV and Tactical Aviation. Therefore, the enemy aerodromes are a serious threat to us. But, as far as you know, the occupiers' missiles will not actually be preserved now by any disruption of airfields.

Because winged rockets are launched from the Astrakhani area [Russian city, 800 km from the Ukrainian border] and from the Black Sea Fleet ships, which can be in the Bay of Sevastopol, or much further. The range of these missiles allows you to overcome thousands of kilometers and affect targets in our country. - The United States has already transferred anti -radios and spare parts for fighters to Ukraine.

What advantage does Ukraine give? -We are constantly with our partners, not only with the United States, we support negotiations on providing Ukraine on all conditions (or purchase or partner agreements) of spare parts. We cannot take them anywhere else, as in the countries of Central Europe and those where we have the same technique as ours. It is Soviet production technique: Buk-M1, C-300, as well as planes, assault aviation and more. Everything they give us is a significant help.

And it is not only about spare parts, but also about ammunition. We know that there is a significant shortage of artillery shells - this is already true of artillery, not air forces. That is why we switched to Nativ guns not only because of their farminess, accuracy and modernity, but also because of the shortage of shells of 152 mm of the Soviet model. It was a forced step because the enemy struck 20 times more artudaries than we, in separate directions.

And, in fact, partners give us not only artillery shells, but also ammunition to other types of weapons. Everything in the complex really helps - we strike every day. - What about anti -radiological missiles? - The US has already officially confirmed the provision of these missiles. They are an extremely useful thing for the air forces and will destroy the enemy extremely effectively.

An anti -radiological rocket is a means that will be directed to the weapons and military equipment [enemy] that has radio emission. That is, the radar signal that will come from the radar of the enemy will be captured by the rocket and it will go exactly on him. And such rockets are designed to effectively destroy air defense, and everything that emits a radar signal. This is very afraid of the enemy, because he has already seriously saturated the occupied territories by means of air defense.

There are echelorated defense, various means-[complexes] shell, Thor, beech M-1 (M-2, M-3), C-300 (average action) and C-400 (distant action). And the sooner we get enough of these missiles, the faster we will destroy [Russian] air defense in the temporarily occupied territory, and this will allow our shock aviation to strike in depth of the enemy's defense. - That is, it will open our way in the sky for planes, drones, rockets. - Of course.

It is extremely difficult for land troops without aviation support. Because [there is] defense from the trench, the enemy is buried in the ground and has already built serious fortifications. And here, in fact, you need aviation support for UAVs, fighter, shock, assault aviation, and helicopters. Who controls the airspace is doomed to success. - Did these missiles be destroyed with the help of these missiles? - If these missiles give us partners, then their effectiveness has already been proven.

They were adapted to our fighters. This is a certain forced step. It is clear that we still need modern F-16 or F-15 planes. Anti -radiolocation missiles are just a separate type of weapons that can carry a multi -purpose fighter. These are missiles that are intended to destroy radar (air defense).

Modern fighters with modern weapons can perform many functions - to conduct air battles, to strike on air, land purposes by those patterns of weapons that are extremely effective in the armies of NATO countries and are in service in the US armies. - Recently, air forces are more efficiently intercepting rockets. What is it related to? - Air Force is more intercepted by those missiles that have previously been intercepted with less efficiency.

This applies to winged missiles flying at a speed of about 900 km per hour. Although they are technological and modern rockets (such as caliber, X-101, X-555), but our air defense is able to destroy. The tactical and technical characteristics of these missiles allow them to be destroyed by our anti-aircraft missile complexes. For other rockets used by the enemy-X-22, X-31, Onyx, dagger or Iskander-we, unfortunately, can not effectively use our tools.

Because the dagger is generally hypersonic rocket and extremely modern. It is, in fact, an Iskander, which takes not from the ground, but from the air medium. The launch of sparks that depart, for example, from the territory of Belarus, can be detected using various sources of information. A dagger is a rocket that runs from the MIG-31 aircraft. This fighter takes off from the depths of Russia, raises extremely high and releases this rocket.

What happened is not always visible because it is a complex radar target. This rocket flies in the upper atmosphere at an extremely high speed to the point where it should fall to the target. When measured on the target, there is even higher speed, about 12 thousand km per hour, and the rocket drops at this incredible speed down. The combat part is 500 kg - you can imagine what explosion this dangerous weapon can create.

But as it is very difficult to detect it radar, and it is virtually impossible to destroy it. Fortunately, these daggers have little and, obviously, they will use them for extremely important purposes. And here the calibers, X-101 and X-555 are stuck [Ukrainian troops] only more effectively that in 5 months our fighters, anti-aircraft, fighter jets and airborne air defense and other units of defense forces have already learned to detect these goals more or less their.

There is certainly better interaction between different structures. If the rocket flies 900 km per hour to destroy it, it is necessary that everyone in their place will work extremely and accurately, and at the final stage, someone else still took and hit this rocket. Actually, this is already achieved through experience and we have such results when we knock down four out of six missiles, four of four, or seven of eight.

This is an extremely cool result, taking into account the weapons that we have since the 70's and 80's, and Russian missiles in 2015. We understand that we are impossible to fall less on the head. - You have previously said that the best operation of air forces requires medium -range air defense systems. Is the question of obtaining these systems? - We can now talk about any range there, but about what our partners promised.

We have existing agreements with Germany and Norway to provide Ukraine [air defense systems] NASAMS and IRIS-T. Already in the help package we see that Americans provide us with rockets to Nasams. The rocket to these systems is AIM-120 Amraam. Their number is not voiced, but they are on the list of assistance. This indicates that we will still receive these complexes. Some government officials voiced that we were talking about two batteries with a certain number of installations.

IRIS-T also has information that the process will not be fast, that it all depends on how much production in Germany will be able to produce the number of these systems needed for us. And we need a lot of them. Well, whatever it is, we have no other way. I know that there are negotiations on providing other systems to strengthen our existing air defense system-which is [Soviet] Beech M1, C-300.
