According to the Russian investigation, the accused Anton Cherednik allegedly shot a resident of Mariupol because of the wrong pronunciation of words in Ukrainian. On February 22, the Southern District Military Court of the Rostov region received materials of a criminal case against the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Anton Cherednik, who is accused of terrorism and murder of civilians in Mariupol. The materials of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (IC) specify that the Cherednik allegedly killed a resident of Mariupol after he was misinterpreted in Ukrainian.

According to the Russian investigation, on March 27, 2022, in the village of Mirne, Cherednik stopped two men and demanded to present documents. He then ordered them to lie down on the ground and utter a phrase in Ukrainian, and for intimidation made a shot into the air from a machine gun. After that, under the pretext of incorrect pronunciation, the Cherednik allegedly shot one of the men.

The agency also reports that another case in the Southern District Court will be considered another case against the Ukrainian military.
