"In January, it seemed to me that we would stay until the end of the month," Kombrig said. However, in fact, Ukrainian defenders managed to keep the city for four months - by the end of May. At this time, the leader of the private military company "Wagner" Yevhen Prigogin massively involved Russian prisoners for attacks and fired at the city with artillery.

"Sometimes we have the headquarters from the explosions nearby," the military said. According to him, he first visited Bakhmut in 2014 and remembers what a good city was at the time. "He was not depressed at all. Now he is destroyed to the ground. Now the struggle is underway for every high -rise building, and sometimes for every entrance," Palis said in an interview in August 2023.

In addition, Hunter mentioned a successful operation related to the capture of Wagner's Power Positions at the end of February 2023 in the Mariupol Cemetery in the southern outskirts of Bakhmut.
