Zelensky appointed a new chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces: he became General Andriy Gnatov (photo)

To spread: He officially appointed the head of state the new chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Major General Andrei Gnatov. The previous chief General Bargilevich will pass to the post of the General Inspector of the Ministry of Defense. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Major General of the Armed Forces Andriy Gnatov to the post of Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This is stated in the Presidential Decree, published on the official portal of the Head of State. "To appoint Gnatov Andriy Viktorovich by the Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," - stated in the text of the Presidential Decree No. 170/2025 of March 16. The previous head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Anatoliy Bargilevich, was released from his position, which is stated in the decree of Zelensky No. 169/2025.
