The Internet in Kherson is censored to stiffer than in the Russian Federation: blocked social networks and Ukrainian media

Within 3 months, the Kherson has no free access to Western social networks and Ukrainian news publications. The occupying administration has reached this as a result of the redirection of the Kherson Internet traffic through the Russian Federation. Along with the military campaign, the last half years of the Russian Federation are actively wage the information war. Since May 30, the Internet in the occupied Kherson region has been rigidly censored.

According to experts, in some parts of the region access to the network is even more control than in Russia itself. About it reports Sky News. The occupation administration in Kherson could achieve the "shutdown" of social networks as a result of the redirection of the Kherson Internet traffic through the territory of the Russian Federation. Initially, traffic in Kherson redirected through network hubs to other parts of Ukraine and passed through Kyiv.

These compounds were stored within the first three months after the Russian invasion, but in the future the Russians made changes. Representatives of the Russian Federation or force, or convincing the need for cooperation, took control of Kherson Internet providers. Currently, Russia can redirect traffic to the Russian Federation with its Crimean provider. It happened for the first time on May 1, but Ukraine's representatives managed to renew control of the traffic.

However, by May 30, when the majority of Telecom infrastructure was under the control of the Russian Federation, the Internet in the Kherson region again suffered Russian censorship. Currently, residents of the occupied region have to use the Russian Internet. For three months, the Kherson has no access to Facebook, Twitter and other Western social social networks. Ukrainian news web resources are blocked.
