In Pokrovsk, the Russian Federation invented an "innovative tactic": what's wrong with the belated withdrawal of the Armed Forces, ZDF

Share: Units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation during the offensive on Pokrovsk invented a new tactic that helps to gain an advantage in urban development despite the drones used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to a German media article. The Ukrainians are making some efforts to reduce the pressure from the north, but there is a threat of losses due to a late retreat from deep positions. The hostilities in Pokrovsk have probably entered the "final phase", ZDF media reported.

The article mentioned the appearance of special forces who landed on the outskirts of the city and were supposed to correct the situation. They also talked about the successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the north, when they are trying to reduce the threat "hanging" over Myrnograd near Dobropilly.

According to ZDF analysts, who summarized the events of the last week, Pokrovsk is "on the verge of collapse," and Ukraine cannot "turn the situation around" and has delayed the withdrawal of troops. The article mentions that already after the operation of the special forces, on Wednesday, November 5. a video appeared online showing Russian soldiers calmly arriving in the center, disembarking and not afraid of anything.

Within a day, on November 6, it became known that the Russian Armed Forces probably control 80% of the city, and the Ukrainians hold positions only in the north. The media described the "innovative tactics" of the Russians that led to today's events. "The Russian encirclement around Pokrovsk and Mirnograd is rapidly narrowing," the media wrote. The tactics of the Russian Federation in Pokrovsk consists of several stages and is aimed specifically at the operators of the UAV, ZDF said.

At first, Russian soldiers secretly penetrated the ruins of Pokrovsk, and then began to attack the shelters of the drone crews of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, increased shelling by artillery and drones took place. At the same time, sorties and ambushes were arranged from time to time. Thanks to such systematic actions, the Russian Armed Forces forced the drones to withdraw, operate from a greater distance, and the infantry of the Defense Forces lost support and protection.

"This tactic, aimed at suppressing groups of enemy drones using ambushes to support the advance of ground forces, can only work in a dense urban environment where it is possible to approach them, and it worked well in Pokrovsk," ZDF wrote. Media analysts believe that the ZSU should have left Pokrovsk a long time ago, and not stand as it did near Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Vugledar. Kursk.

The article stated which units of the Defense Forces are at risk due to these delays: "Even if the position in the city could no longer be held, at least an organized retreat would be possible. But even if this maneuver succeeds, the partially surrounded Ukrainian troops have already suffered heavy losses that could have been avoided if the retreat order had been given in time," ZDF concluded.

It should be noted that on November 3, combatant "Shershni Dovbush" of the 68th brigade V'yacheslav "Lyutyy" called the events in Pokrovsk "chaos". The officer said the situation was "critical" and he wasn't sure it could be handled. Similarly, the analysts of the DeepState project assessed the battles in Pokrovsk: back in August, they stated that it was about "chaos in the command" and about the advance of the Russians through the streets of the city.
