The Kremlin will reject the security guarantees of Ukraine from the US and Europe: the ISW explained the statements of the Russians

To extend: The United States is ready to provide European allies with auxiliary forces within the framework of security guarantees for post -war Ukraine, which includes in particular strategic means. However, the rhetoric of Russian high -ranking officials over the last two weeks testifies to another position of the Kremlin against foreign peacekeepers in Ukraine. Russian officials may indicate that the Kremlin will probably not accept security guarantees from Americans and Europeans.

This opinion was voiced at the American Institute for War Study (ISW) in the report for August 26. SSI changed their position and ready to support any Western mission that will provide peace and security in Ukraine after the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war, although previously President of America Donald Trump had other intentions.

The Financial Times claimed August 26 that Washington wants to provide strategic security tools that will include intelligence, management and command tools, as well as assistance in providing air defense. "Official sources have noted that such support of the United States depends on the obligation of European countries to deploy" tens of thousands "of servicemen in Ukraine," the ISW report reads.

This means that Ukrainian troops will "patrol" neutral peacekeeping servicemen who will be placed in the demilitarized territory. At the same time, European "restraint forces" will act deeper in Ukraine as a "third line of defense", while US means will act in the rear. ISW writes that Russian officials have repeatedly discarded security guarantees.

Although the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov declared on August 20 that Russia supported security guarantees and called the countries that can ensure them, after some time its rhetoric changed. Yes, Sergei Lavrov recently stated that the United States should not be responsible for Ukraine's post -war security.

Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, on August 18 publicly stated that the Kremlin rejects "any scenario that provides for the emergence of a military contingent in Ukraine with the participation of NATO countries. " ISW believes that such rhetoric indicates that the Kremlin is likely to disagree on security guarantees in the form that the US and European leaders now offer.

"The Kremlin will probably reject the US and Europe's proposal for security guarantees, similar to that, which is reported, by US and European officials," the report said. At the same time, the United States believes that Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin will be able to agree on the territories and security guarantees for Ukraine. This opinion was expressed on August 21 by US Vice -Cresident Ji Di Wance during an interview for Fox News.
