The new government should solve problems in the royal army that has accumulated ...

Not even a division is enough: there is no tanks, artillery and air defense in the UK - Rusi

The new government should solve problems in the royal army that has accumulated for decades. Now the situation is such that it will be difficult for the British to bring into battle even one armored team. The British army is going through difficult times. According to Royal United Service Institute analysts, many weapons samples are lacking in the armed forces to form even one division. Labor won the elections and headed the new government.

They will face a serious challenge because of the current state of the army. Analysts emphasize that the war in Ukraine shows how important the fire power and the amount of forces are. Russian invaders have already lost more than 460 killed and wounded, thousands of tanks and armored vehicles. The Ukrainian military requires 7,000 ammunition daily to continue the fight. If the United Kingdom is in such a war, the armed forces will not be effective in the case of long -term fighting.

In particular, the armored division should have from 170 to 300 tanks, as well as from 110 to 220 artillery units. However, even with the future plans of procurement of tanks, it is not planned to reach at least 170 cars. The British Army will have 148 Challenger 3 by 2030. As for artillery, the AS90 SAU was withdrawn from the weapons, 32 of them have already been transferred to Ukraine. Only 14 Swedish Archer is planned to be replaced.

The mobile fire platform program is planned, but it has been implemented in decades. Challenger 3 can really become the most fragile tank that has ever been in the royal army. However, analysts note that it will be in an extremely limited number. A separate question is the deployment of combat forces. The situation with this is just as difficult for the British.

To deploy one armored army, 70-80% of all engineering and technical forces can be attracted in order to overcome obstacles in the form of mine fields and rivers. Maneuvering and coordination of forces should be due to protected communications. And here there is a problem in the army. The Bowman system is outdated and the new Morpheus is late for at least ten years. The issue of air defense is no less sensitive to the British Armed Forces. They currently have a limited number of Sky Sabre.
