The German defensive giant Rhainmetall held an event organized by the Business Journalists Association at the Dusseldorf-BOSS industrial club, during which the head of Armin Papperger told a rather interesting nuance about the supply of artillery ammunition within the defense assistance of Ukraine.

Thus, in the context of the war in Ukraine, he stressed that "artillery changes the rules of war" on the battlefield and this year Rheinmetall should put "hundreds of thousands" of artillery ammunition for the Defense Forces of Ukraine. And among them will also be prototypes of artillery ammunition with a range of as far as 100 km, say in Handelsblatt.

Recall that today the most farm 155mm ammunition in the List of Defense Assistance to Ukraine from Germany is Vulcano-last year it became known that Germany transmits for our defense forces laser luminaries for this artillery ammunition, which hinted at the improved version of Vulcano. range up to 70 km when shooting from 52-caliber artillery systems.

At the same time, it remains secret, and how many new prototypes of ammunition will be 100 km in Ukraine - we can assume that it is a small party for testing in a complex battlefield, which will then be improved in view of reviews from our military .

Regarding the production of artillery ammunition in general, the German company reminds that by February 2022 the rates of production of artsnaries amounted to about 70 thousand a year, at the same time this year the capacity should increase to 700 thousand, and in the near future - to reach 1. 1 million units.

RheinMetall today is really actively expanding the geography of ammunition production in Europe, in particular, last month reported preliminary arrangements with Lithuania about the creation of a new production of 155 mm shells. In addition, in February, Rheinmetall reported plans to open a new production plant for 155 mm shells, which plan to produce a six-digit amount of ammunition during the year.
