"I give four regions and Crimea": Arestovich suggested a scandalous scenario of end of war

To spread: In an interview with the Russian journalist Ksenia Sobchak, a former adviser to the Presidential Office of Ukraine Arestovych outlined his own vision of possible conditions for the end of Ukraine and Russia. The politician stated that he was ready to find a formula of peace, which would not provide for the legal recognition of the occupied territories, but would stop the fighting and start the reconciliation process.

According to an interview with Ksenia Sobchak, published on the YouTube channel, Alexei Arestovich believed that it was time to talk about realistic conditions of possible peace. He noted that any settlement should take place within the Ukrainian Constitution, but allows flexible approaches to the temporary status of the occupied territories. "Specifically, I propose the following: we are reviewing the conditions.

For example, it is about Russia's key requirements - four regions, Crimea and issues of the rights of the Russian -speaking population. But I do not recognize these territories in Russian. It can be a format similar to a situation between Germany and R&D," Arestovich explained. According to him, the probable scenario could include the withdrawal of troops and the creation of a new line of demarcation, similar to the 38th parallel between South and North Korea.

Such a step, in his opinion, would allow to introduce a sustainable truce or even a peace agreement without the legal recognition of territorial changes. "It can look like this: you bring out troops - I remove the troops. We form a new line of touch, and the war stops. You can further conclude a peace treaty, but a long -term peaceful approval that is enough for stability," he said. Arestovich stressed that after such a step it is important to move to the symbolic gestures of reconciliation.

He proposed to hold a joint prayer service for fallen Ukrainians, Russians and Byelorussians, as well as organize the mutual laying of flowers to the monuments fallen. "I am ready to go to a joint prayer with Vladimir Putin - for the dead on both sides. Then I will turn to the people of Russia: we wanted to make us enemies, but I came to put an end to this," Arestovich said.

He also stated that he recognized the "symbolic unity" of three peoples - Ukrainian, Russian and Belarusian - from the time of Prince Vladimir the Great. In his opinion, this position can be the basis for a new stage of security in Europe. "It's not empty words for me. We have to create a system that will make it impossible to use force in Europe - something like a new Yalta, a new arbitration," he said.

In addition, the politician did not rule out that during potential arrangements, Ukraine may agree to refuse to NATO and EU membership, if this is a condition for a stable peace. "Refusal to enter NATO? I will sign. Refusal to enter the EU? Also possible. The main thing is to preserve Ukraine and the lives of people," Arestovich said. At the end of the interview, he noted that the Russian side could raise the issue of "court over Vladimir Zelensky".

Arestovich called it unacceptable, but added that the issue of responsibility for actions during the war should be resolved in the legal field. "Putin does not have to speak such words, because I am going to evaluate the actions of Zelensky - from the point of view of Ukrainian laws, not Russian," he said. Recall that the former adviser to the Presidential Office Alexei Arestovich was "illuminated" with the Russian TV presenter and politician Ksenia Sobchak in London.
