The DPRK suspended the supply of weapons to the Russian Federation by the sea: the media called possible reasons (photo)

According to South Korean journalists, no large cargo vessels were recorded at the satellite images since February 12, at the berths of Russia and North Korea involved in the probable weapon trade. The expected operation of weapons from North Korea to the Russian Federation may have been stopped. This may be evidenced by the fact that Russian ships related to this trade have ceased to appear in the ports of both countries on satellite images.

This is stated in the material of the South Korean edition of NK Pro. It is reported that Moscow and Pyongyan's maritime operation began last August. The ships were running between the North Korean port of "Rason" and the Russian military port "Danube". According to the publication, at least four identified Russian cargo ships have made at least 32 flights to North Korea. It is about the vessels of Lady R, "Angar", "Maya-1" and "Maria".

According to the authors of the publication, from February 12, no large cargo vessels have been recorded in the satellite images near two piers that participated in the probable weapon trade. During this time, the DPRK also did not deliver containers to the export pier.

Since, according to the data, the stacks of containers delivered by Maia-1 vessels on February 12 and Lady R this month have remained in the same place in recent weeks, the publication believes that they are empty or there is no need to be urgently delivered to the destination in the DPRK. According to South Korean journalists, the operation could be stopped due to the stop of production in North Korea or other logistics problems.

They also do not rule out that weapons are thrown from the DPRK to Russia by air or rail through a common land border. Journalists also emphasized that a number of features indicate that deliveries can be restored in the future. We will remind, according to the report of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) of February 28, since August 2023, North Korea has transferred more than 2. 5 million ammunition to the Russian Federation.
