Army's eyes and paws: Military testing a ghost v60 combat work

The four -legged machine can accelerate up to 10 km/h in complex terrain and is equipped with chambers for a circular inspection. The UK army has started a test of a robotic V60 QuadRupd, developed by Ghost Robotics. About it writes the portal Army Technology. Soldiers of the 23 Parachut-engineering regiment check the opportunities of work in cooperation with experts with the expeditionary center of robotics of the group of defense equipment and support of the Future Capability Group.

They will check how well the machine can work in different conditions and how useful it will be on the battlefield. It is known that V60 QuadRupd is able to move a complex relief in urban or in nature at a speed of up to 10 km/h, as well as carry a payload weighing up to 10 kg.

The work can be delivered to the area of the task on the helicopter or to be discounted with a parachute, then the operator must be remotely controlled by a special remote control - the autonomous mode is not provided. Instead, the manufacturer protected electronics from rain and other weather conditions. The built -in cameras in front, back and sides allow you to see 360 degrees, the Light Detection and Rang (Lidar) visualization system is additionally put.

"In the modern combat space, robotics is becoming more important, allowing soldiers to act faster and longer. The four -legged Ghost V60 provides increased situational awareness for soldiers on Earth. It can be the eyes and ears of servicemen on the forefront, increasing the accuracy of identification. " He added that the British military has many potential ways to use work.

For example, "ghost" can deliver to soldiers critically important equipment, explore dangerous areas and perform combat missions that are too dangerous to people. It should reduce the risks to the lives of servicemen and facilitate their work. Interestingly, together with V60 QuadRupd, the SPOT work from Boston Dynamics is involved in the trials. Earlier, the China's army showed its armed robots.
