Putin lost. EU has filled gas storage facilities to the minimum required level ahead of schedule

The average level of gas reserves in the underground repositories of Europe will reach 80%on August 29. This event will undoubtedly have not only a technical but also a major political role, Interfax-Ukraine notes. The data on the state of PSGs, which are now regulated by law, is one of the most important economic and political indicators for the European Union, reflecting the ability of EU leadership to ensure energy security.

Video of the day is known that since 2022 the EU has introduced rigid regulation of the use of underground storage. By the beginning of the selection season in 2022, the reserves should be at least 80% of the PSG capacity, in the following years - 90%. At the last reporting date (August 27), 79. 36%were reserved. The pace of gas pumping this season is well known in previous days and weeks - 0. 3 percentage points on a weekday and 0. 4 pp. on the weekend.

Thus, on August 29, European PGs will reach 80%of August 29. At the moment, 80% of the reserves in the storage of Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Spain have been exceeded. Against this background, the countries that are behind are especially noticeable: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Latvia (absolute outsider with 55%), Netherlands.

As Gazprom reduced the supply of Russian gas transit through the territory of Ukraine is stored at the level of previous days and months - 42. 2 million cubic meters per day (provided for by a maximum contract - about 110 million cubic meters per day). The capacities are declared only one of the two entrance to the GTS of the country - Sudzha gas metering station.

The corridor through the DHW Sokhranivka is not accepted (since the Novopskov compressor station on this section of the gas pipeline is on a temporarily occupied aggressor of the territory). The pumping of gas by the north flow was reduced to 33 million cubic meters per day (at the initiative of Gazprom), although the project capacity is 167 million cubic meters a day. From August 31 to September 2, the highway will completely stop for another prevention.
