The suitability of Russian tanks to repair is at times lower than it was officially considered: what is the problem

One of the key problems in the Russians is the lack of unification in the armored vehicles. This leads to the fact that the recovery time of machines is 15-20% higher than specified in the management documents. Open access appeared # 10 of the Russian log "Logistics", which reveals the problems that the army of the Russian Federation faces when using armored vehicles in a full-scale war against Ukraine.

This material, in fact, has become a confirmation of the systemic crisis in the organization of repair, operation and combat use of tanks of Russia. The Defense Express observers write about it. The publication emphasizes that the real repair of Russian tanks is 3-5 times lower than it was stated in the guidance documents. This increases the recovery time of machines by 15-20%, and sometimes longer. However, this is only the "tip of the iceberg", experts emphasized.

The fact is that one of the key problems in the Russians is the lack of unification in the park park. For example, the T-72 and T-80 tanks control systems have incompatible blocks. In addition, the Russian army uses seven different types of engines for armored vehicles, which complicates maintenance and repair. These problems have reached a critical level at the time of invasion of Ukraine, which makes logistics and technical support even more complex.

At the same time, military equipment that came from conservation required large -scale refinement before departure to the front. Among the disadvantages identified: no less serious problems occurred in combat damage to armored vehicles. When the armor was cut, fire control systems, stabilizers, charging machine, and power plant units were destroyed. Sometimes the damage was caused by the leakage of fuel, fire or detonation of the ammunition.
