Operation is ongoing: GUR about the 53rd exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and the Russian Federation (video)

Within the last exchange of prisoners, Ukraine has already returned 50 soldiers defending Mariupol. However, this process is still ongoing. The last, 53rd exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and Russia has not yet been completed. The representative of the MOU MOV Intelligence Directorate Andriy Yusov told about it on the air of the telecommunication. According to him, this is not the 53rd exchange because it has not completed and the operation is ongoing.

"90 of our defenders have already been returned as part of this operation. But these are not the latest news. And we really expect to report additional information in the near future," he said. Yusov also stressed that every exchange of prisoners is difficult because Russia neglects international law and Geneva Conventions. Among the prisoners who managed to return home, there are 50 defenders of Mariupol, who left Azovstal.

We will remind, on May 31 the first for a long time exchange of prisoners with the Russian Federation. Ukraine then returned home another 75 people who were held captive in the aggressor country. The preliminary exchange of prisoners took place on February 8 and then it was possible to return 100 Ukrainian defenders.

On May 29, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova stated that the exchanges of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine have been suspended for several months and accused the Ukrainian side of this. Later, the American Institute of War Study explained why the Russian Federation accuses Ukraine of lack of cooperation of the exchange of prisoners. According to analysts, Moscow deliberately refuses this process to try to conceal their criminal acts.
