US Army purchases rockets for HIMARS for $ 520 million

After supplying Ukraine's high -precision GMLRS missiles, the states decided to fill their stocks to preserve the opportunities for assistance to allies and international partners. The US Department of Defense has signed a contract with Lockheed Martin for the production of high -precision missiles for the RSSU. About it reports CNBC. The American Defense Giant Lockheed Martin will make missiles to fill the US Army reserves that have declined after the supply of GMLRS missiles to Ukraine.

"This contract allows us to replenish our own stocks, while giving critical opportunities to our allies and international partners," said Douglas Bush, Assistant Minister of Procurement, Logistics and Technology. GMLRS is the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket Systems, high -precision guided missiles used in HIMARS and M270 MLRS. Their shooting range exceeds 84 km. The caliber is 227 mm. One Himars contains 6 such missiles that can be released in less than a minute.
