This equipment will be available to farmers from 20 regions of Ukraine, FAO representative Victoria Mikhalchuk said, Ukrinform reports. According to FAO representatives, as a result of Russian aggression, 14% of Ukrainian granaries have been damaged or destroyed, 10% are located in Russia captured. Of the available storage facilities, 35% are filled with cereals and oilseeds last year's crop export.
"Already these days, FAO will announce the tender for the purchase of the necessary equipment-sleeves for storing grain, loaders-loaders, as well as modular granaries," Mikhalchuk said. The conditions of participation in the project will be announced in the near future. Additional warehouses will provide 25% of the national need.
Earlier it was reported that the cost of the FAO project aimed at helping Ukrainian farmers to keep the crop expected in July-August and to export the most important agricultural goods to international markets is estimated at $ 17 million. Section XXI "Final and Transitional Provisions of the Customs Code of Ukraine on the exemption from the taxation of import duty of goods used to ensure the storage of cereals and/or oil crops".
Ukrinform announced this with reference to the People's Deputy of Ukraine Yaroslav Zheleznyak. "The Council: 7548-11 supported (304 votes) the exemption from the import duty of imports into Ukraine bags, sleeves for storage of cereals and oilseeds and equipment for their filling, loading, unloading," Zheleznyak wrote. The document states that due to insufficient number of elevators there was a problem with grain storage.
The way out of this situation is the use of temporary storage of cereals: bags and sleeves (bags and sleeves - plastic, which can be downloaded up to 200 tons of cereals and put directly on the field), temporary silos, as well as machines (equipment) intended for their loading and unloading.
