According to lawyer Girkin Oleksandr Molokhov, the protection of the terrorist at the end of January 2024 appealed the sentence of his client, and the court hearing in the criminal case will be held in the First Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction in Moscow on May 15. A document confirmed to Molokhov's appeal that confirms that one of the military units of the so -called "DNR" agreed to conclude a contract with Girkin.
"Protection believes that, despite the adoption by the State Duma recently, which prohibits the sending to the front of convicts under extremist articles, there is a legal opportunity to conclude a military contract with Strelkov," Molokhov said. He added that if the court of appeal cancels the sentence or if the President of Russia has mercy on the convicted extreme of Girkina and removes his conviction, then he will have the right to go to serve.
It should be reminded that on January 25, 2024 it became known that the Moscow City Court condemned the former "Minister of Defense of the DNR" Igor Girkin (Strelkova) to four years of a colony of a general regime in the case of public calls for extremism. On July 21, Strelkov was arrested for "extremism" because he constantly criticized the Ministry of Defense of Russia and President Vladimir Putin.
