To spread: Russia expresses its readiness for the end of the war in Ukraine. The first step should be the ceasefire. The signal was handed over by US President Special Representative Steve Witcoff. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated this at a meeting with journalists on August 12, he was quoted by the TSN news service. Zelensky stressed that it was the first signal from the Russian side during the full -scale war.

The signal was positively perceived by all participants in the conversation as a probable "shift" in the situation. The President of Ukraine also touched on the topic of Russia's territorial concessions. Zelensky declared unwillingness to discuss the territory of Ukraine, as it is only a matter of the Constitution. "For all respect, I am not ready to discuss the relevant issues by the phone. These are serious issues that are resolved at the level of leaders," he added.
