Surprise on board: Australia's first space rocket exploded immediately after launching (video)

To spread: the first space rocket, created in Australia, has been crashed 14 seconds after the start. However, the first testing of the three-stage rocket ERIS is not considered to be completely unsuccessful. The first testing of ERIS rocket, 25 meters high, created by Gilmour Space, took place on July 30, although only 14 seconds lasted. The orbital rocket was only able to rise above the starting tower, after which it fell and exploded.

The launch of ERIS rocket was made from Bowen's spaceport in Australia and it was the first attempt to launch a rocket -created rocket in this country, Gizmodo writes. In focus. Technology has appeared its Telegram channel. Subscribe not to miss the latest and most intrusive news from the world of science! The first test launch of the first space rocket, developed and built in Australia, ended with a disaster.

The Eris rocket launched its engines, began to fly, but when it was not a height of a few tens of meters, it suddenly fell to the ground and exploded. On board the rocket was not a valuable amount of payload and yet there was a VEGEMITE paste on board, which was very popular in Australia. This thick dark paste for toast some Australians is considered a symbol of their country. The ERIS three -stage rocket has a height of 25 meters and is intended for removal of an efficiency weighing up to 215 kg.

For flight, the rocket uses a hybrid liquid-solid fuel, which, according to Gilmour Space, is safer and cheaper than liquid or solid fuel used in other space missiles. Despite the failed first launch of Eris into space, Gilmour Space stated that they received a lot of valuable information that would be used to improve the rocket and prepare for a new test flight. In particular, important data on the operation of four rocket engines was obtained, which in total operated 23 seconds.

The Eris rocket test flight was transferred several times. Initially, it was to be launched into space in November 2024. The launch was then postponed to March 2025, but it was canceled through a strong tropical cyclone. In May, the rocket was already ready for launch, but there were problems with the hard work. After solving the problems, the launch was postponed to the end of June, but again it did not occur due to adverse weather.

Gilmour Space, despite the catastrophe, is already preparing a new Eris rocket so that it still makes the first Australia's first flight into space. When it happens, it is still unknown. As the focus has already wrote, this year another test of the Starship rocket of US company SpaceX, which also ended with a disaster, took place. Focus also wrote that scientists have found out how lightnings actually occur on Earth.
