At the same time, the tariffs imposed by the American head on other states are also suffering from American companies, including Tesla, whose leader and in parallel, one of Trump's key allies is billionaire Ilon Musk. This was reported by The Telegraph on March 13. Journalists say that in a letter to the US sales representative Jajmiston Grair from Tesla it is said that increasing tariffs can complicate the putting of spare parts required for production at an affordable price.
At the same time, as the publication found out, the position of the company, expressed in one of the letters, lies in the complete support of "justice" in the world economy. However, Tesla complains that because of the tight White House policy, other countries impose "disproportionate" tariffs in response to duties that Donald Trump imposes one by one.
Moreover, duties not only appear, but eventually increase, such as increasing tariffs for metals from Canada to 50%, which Donald Trump said on March 11. The greatest harm has caused 20% of duties on all imports from China, which is considered the second largest market for the company after the United States. This happened on March 3, when Donald Trump signed the relevant decree.
Now Tesla is trying to find a way out by changing the supply chain, looking for as many local (US) suppliers as possible for their cars, batteries and other equipment. In this way, Tesla tries to reduce the dependence of its production on the business presented in other countries, but even such a solution cannot fully solve the problem.
