Russia should withdraw troops: IAEA has started negotiating to create a safety zone for ZPP

According to the head of the agency Raphael Grosssey, it is now in the priority of guaranteeing the safety of nuclear objects of Ukraine. The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Raphael Grosssey announced the start of negotiations, which discuss the creation of a nuclear security area in the Zaporizhzhya NPP area. "Work on guaranteeing the safety of nuclear objects of Ukraine remains a priority," Grossi said.

According to him, the creation of the zone support the US and the European Union, negotiations take place within the 66th annual IAEA session. As it was reported, on September 6, the UN Security Council discussed the situation at the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Station. The meeting of the Security Council was held on the initiative of Russia, which accuses Ukraine of shelling of the NPP. UN Secretary General Anthony Guterres stated the need to create a demilitarized zone around the NPP.

And the chairman IAEA stressed that during his visit to the occupied Energodar personally convinced the intentional blows at the station. Earlier, the IAEA reported a visit to the Zaporizhzhya NPP. Mission experts insist on the creation of a nuclear safety area near the ZPP. They stressed that this is the first in the history of hostilities at the objects of a large nuclear power plant.
