We need to provide a real opportunity to get energy despite Russian terror and continue to strengthen air defense - President of Ukraine 

Energy -generation programs, decentralization of energy and increase of capacity were discussed today by the participants of the extended meeting of the Presidium of the Congress of Local and Regional Powers, which was chairmanship of President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.

The head of state stated that through terrorist strikes of the Russian Federation on our energy objects, the destruction of a large part of the generation today energy challenges - number one, and the issue of preparation for winter is especially relevant.

"The Government of Ukraine has received a clear task, namely: to develop a package of decisions so that our people, all Ukrainian communities, Ukrainian companies can go through this situation and provide a real opportunity for themselves to get energy despite Russian terror," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the beginning of the meeting.

The President is convinced that the solution of energy issues is comprehensive and needs both strong air defense and steps to support citizens, ensure physical protection and restore energy, cooperation with partners on importing electricity from the EU to Ukraine, the possibility of creating new generating capacity. “Full assistance is required for people, for people, companies, businesses.

It is very important that new generating capacity can be created on the ground and the decentralization of Ukraine's energy potential is actually widespread in the whole state, ”Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed. The head of state thanked partners from G7 and other countries for strengthening air defense: today a new system from Germany has been launched, and there is a strengthening of the United States.

He also expressed his hope for powerful results to protect the Ukrainian sky following the NATO summit. The head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak stressed that all state support tools should be accessible, transparent, understandable and as simple as possible. “The economy is in dire need of additional generation. Therefore, financial instruments for citizens, condominiums and businesses should work as soon as possible, ”he said.

It is necessary to take into account the possible risks of new strikes in the most critical areas of the power system, to reserve funds in advance, to take care of specialists who will quickly accelerate, install and adjust the work of new equipment. Andriy Yermak reported that the practice of regular briefings on the situation in Ukraine under the chairmanship of the Minister of Energy, with the participation of heads of OVA, city mayors, international partners.

This should provide coordinated and understandable work and public reporting on local events. “It is important that everyone understands what equipment of our partners is delivered and how it works, where it is not enough and when it appears, where help is needed and where we have success and problems.

This information should be widely covered in the media, and every citizen of Ukraine should understand what is happening in every community and what is really done to make light and warmth, ”the Presidential Office said. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal noted that on behalf of the President, the government is already working on tasks and focused on decentralization of the power system. According to the head of the Cabinet, key steps in this direction have already been taken.

The first Viceremier-Minister of Ukraine-Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko told in detail about a number of programs introduced by the state.

It is, in particular, about interest-free loans to citizens for establishing energy equipment, business loans for energy efficiency, alternative generation, providing condominiums and housing and communal services opportunities to participate in a preferential lending program for the installation of equipment for alternative generation of electricity, on expansion %»For the purchase and installation of electrical generation installations operating on gas, and for deocal and frontier areas - about reducing the interest rate.

According to Yulia Sviridenko, programs will start working on July 20 this year. The Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko spoke about already made decisions on the energy sphere for the period of martial law, which simplify regulatory policy and the connection of new capacity to the power system.

The event was also attended by representatives of the Presidential Office, government officials, Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Andriy Pishny, diplomats of foreign countries, representatives of international organizations, heads of regional military administrations, representatives of communities and local authorities.
