Complex solutions are waiting for the Armed Forces: the ISW estimated the likelihood of a new occupation of the Dnieper Right Bank

According to analysts, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation managed a small raid - on March 13, the Russians allegedly landed on the right bank of the Kherson region. Creating an opponent of the Dnieper Military Fleet can support further efforts. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue structural reforms aimed at supporting the war in Ukraine and expanding opportunities in the event of a potential conflict with NATO.

This was stated by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on March 20, speaking at the College of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, reported in the Construction of the Institute of War Study in the summary of March 20. According to Shogu, the Dniprovsk River Fleet and a brigade of boats as part of the Fleet. The Dnipro Military Fleet-the historical name of different military units that acted during the Russian-Turkish wars of 1735-1739 and 1787-1792, etc.

The flotilla is likely to be deployed in the Kherson region to protect against the outbursts of Ukrainian troops across the Dnieper and prevent the Armed Forces from expanding the bridgehead on the Left Bank of the Kherson region. The size and level of the river flotilla is unknown, but at the same time the plans of the Russian command may be transition across the Dnieper to the right bank controlled by Ukraine.

Both Russian and Ukrainian sources confirmed that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation managed to hold a small raid and land on the right bank of the Kherson region on March 13, and the Dnieper River Military Fleet could support further efforts in this direction. It is unlikely that there is now the necessary personnel and equipment that is required for a long -term presence on the Right Bank or creating a real threat of re -occupation of a large area in the Kherson region.

But the presence of a new formation in the area can force Ukraine to direct additional forces and scarce funds to restrain the Group of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the area where it has not been in place since November 2022. Due to the advent of the Dnieper River Fleet, the Ukrainian command can go to complex solutions in terms of resource allocation, since limited inventories of military equipment and artillery ammunition are spent economically.
