Asked to turn off the phone: the widow of the Armed Forces fighter stole 4 million "funeral" money - details

The woman was called under the guise of mobile operator, and then with her seven-card made an electronic duplicate of the number and received access to online banking. Three Ukrainians are suspected of contributing to the abduction of almost 4 million hryvnias from the deposit of the widow of the Armed Forces. They have been informed of suspicions. About it reports the prosecutor's office of Zaporizhzhya region.

The investigation found that three inhabitants of Dnipropetrovsk, Volyn and Cherkasy regions transferred their personal data to a group of fraudsters for monetary remuneration. They registered electronic wallets, FOPs and virtual service. The fraudsters then learned that the woman received state aid in connection with the death of her husband in the war, and that she saves these funds on a bank deposit.

They called her under the guise of mobile operator and persuaded to turn off the phone for a while. Then, with the help of a seven-card recovery service, they made an electronic duplicate of its number and made access to the online banking of the victim. In the future, through accounts on cryptocurrencies, fraudsters brought almost UAH 4 million to controlled accounts. Investigative actions are ongoing to establish other persons directly involved in fraud.
