"We do not need democracy": the head of the CEC of the Russian Federation stated that in the West there is a minority power

According to Elli Pamphilova, the western form of government is "not suitable" for the Russian Federation. The Russian Federation does not need democracy that exists today in the Western countries. The head of the Central Election Committee (CEC) of the Russian Federation Ella Pomfilov shared this opinion, Rossma reported on August 18. According to her, in other countries, democracy is the power of the minority, so the Russian Federation is not suitable for this option.

It was the answer to the material of The New York Times, in a comment to which Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov spoke about the election of the Head of State in 2024. He then called this process not by democracy, but by "expensive bureaucracy. " After that, almost immediately he was forced to justify himself for his words, saying that journalists were not so understood. "I agree, in that Western sense - we do not need this democracy . . .

but in fact, what is democracy? It is just a way of forming power through elections. And in the understanding of the West? What is happening in the West? This democracy is not the power of the majority, This is the power of the minority. We do not need such democracy, " - said Ella Pamphilova. She also believes that the Central Election Commission is one of the most effective state agencies that works in the Russian Federation.

They allegedly solve the tasks with "minimal costs as efficiently as possible". Moreover, she urged other structures to follow the CEC. On August 16, the exchanging of the Security Service of Ukraine Valery Kondratyuk noted that Putin can make his successor head of his successor Alexei Dumin. The reason is that the Russian elites press on the Kremlin.
