This was reported by the representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense Vadim Skibitsky in an interview with CivilMedia on August 3. According to him, Russian invaders aim to leave Ukrainians in the cold period without the basic things that citizens use in normal times daily. At the same time, Ukraine understands the threat and has already started preparation for it.
"It is obvious that Russia and winter will try again in the fall and winter to destroy our power system to deprive Ukrainians of light and heat, demoralize our society and cause a new wave of forced emigration," the statement reads. The Russians began to explore to determine for themselves priority objects that are vulnerable, and the task of the Ukrainian authorities - to be as prepared for provocations as much as possible so that winter is not as difficult as it has gone.
"We know about these plans of the enemy and we are preparing for winter in the summer. And the Ukrainian offensive, as I said, continues. So we will see what will happen in the winter," Vadim Skibitsky added. Ukrainian goals have not changed. The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue the counter -offensive during which the territory is released. Only this is the main guarantee of safety, which will lead to a sustainable peace.
