Malyva Modification: The Russian Federation launched a new SAU with a 2C44 "Hyacint-K" series (photo)

Russian observers noted the increased range of new installation firing, as well as the availability of an automated management and fire control system. Modification of the Russian self-propelled artillery installation (SAU) "Malva" with 152 mm gun 2A36 "Hyacint-B" officially received the name 2C44 "Hyacinth-K" and was launched into mass production. This was reported on February 11 by Russian profile resources.

It is noteworthy that neither Rostech nor the Uralvagonzavod concern have officially reported the mass production of this modification. Although Russian propagandists have already posted a video that refers to the use of SAU with gun 2A36 "Hyacinth-B" in the war zone in Ukraine. Meanwhile, the modernization of the Malva SAU has attracted the attention of Western military analysts.

The Polish edition of Defense24 noted that Russia has actually created a hybrid of two artillery systems, increasing the range of installation. Analysts paid attention to visual changes - a new muzzle brake and a gun lock. At the same time, Polish experts raised the question of whether the installation 2A36 on "Malva" is a one -time decision, whether a complete new modification adopted by weapons.

They point out that the towing guns "Hyacinth-B" and their trunks do not produce now, so they suggest that Russia is using tools that are stored. Russian observers claim that the installation of a new 152-mm gun 2A36 "Hyacint-B" on the chassis "Voshyna" with a wheel formula 8 × 8 made it possible to significantly increase the range of firing of the artsystem.

If the base "Malva" with howitzer 2A64 had a maximum range of 29 km, provided a projectile with a bottom gas -generator, then the new version can allegedly affect the target at a distance of more than 50 km, provided ammunition is used with the possibility of adjustment. In addition, the updated SAU is equipped with an automated managing and fire control system (ASUNO), which accelerates the deployment of the complex, minimizing the need to load the target coordinates obtained by intelligence.
