Blackut up to two weeks: the expert told the consequences

Light in winter may not be 20 hours a day if severe frosts are hit in Ukraine and the Russian Federation will create emergencies at nuclear power plants, says expert Yuri Korolchuk. During massive attacks of the Russian Federation Ukrenergo will use emergency shutdowns to save atomic power plants from overload.

However, if the Russians hit the distribution facilities and fail more than two NPPs, the Ukrainians are waiting for a strict blackout, said energy expert, co -founder of the Institute of Energy Strategies Yuri Korolchuk in an interview with Glavred. On Monday, on Monday, on Monday, on Monday, on Monday, in some regions of Ukraine, energy was introduced preventive shutdowns. This is first and foremost necessary to keep the NPP blocks and previously recovered TPP blocks, the expert explained.

He noted that if the Russian Federation hit the substation during the stable operation of the system, the power will sharply fall in the nuclear power unit and it will need to be disconnected, which is a serious load on the block itself and on the fuel inside the reactor, which can have unpredictable consequences. "In the current situation, this is a justified step. Because any unpredictable load on NPP blocks can bring one, two or three power units to repair.

The energy expert also stated that during the frost, electricity disconnections will not be avoided, even if all NPP and TPP blocks work steadily. "If the temperature minus 10 in the afternoon and even lower at night, the shutdowns can last at least 6-7 hours a day. If the blocks are renovated or there is not enough power, then it will all move towards what was in the summer, in the summer, in the summer That is, to shut off for 16-17 hours, ”Korolchuk predicts.

If even stronger frosts or Russia strikes emergencies at stations, according to him, light may not be 20 hours a day. However, the expert noted that this will first of all apply to Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa, Dnipropetrovsk and Lviv regions. In other regions, shutdowns may be less. The impact of the Russian Federation on the NPP distribution capacities can completely stop the operation of the stations.

If there is more than one station under the blow, a blackout with rigid schedules is possible in Ukraine, which will last up to two weeks. "Even if a couple of rockets are launched into the hail, which will conditionally seize a piece of concrete, the station will already be stopped to find out all the circumstances and degrees of damage. And this will immediately cause shutdown.

If it concerns two NPP One thing that is quite difficult, but it will be a large volume of electricity production for which the consumer should be, ”Korolchuk explained. With this development of the TPP events will be able to provide electricity with small "islands", but without NPPs it will not be possible to provide light, the energy expert said. Electricity will be submitted according to strict schedules, first of all it will receive critically important infrastructure objects.

According to Yuri Korolchuk, the winter of 2024-2025 without shutdown Ukrainians will hardly be possible. "It will only be warm winter. But even then consumption will grow, and we will still be in the conditions of shutdowns," the expert said. It should be noted that on November 9, Focus asked experts whether Europe would help Ukraine to survive frost if Russia continues to destroy the shelling of Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
