"Many people are losing": JD Vance questioned the territorial gains of the Russian Federation

Share: US Vice President JD Vance believes the time has come for Ukraine and Russia to end the war. The politician questioned Putin's territorial acquisitions and at the same time pointed to the difficulties Ukraine is experiencing. He shared his vision of the situation in the latest edition of the "Pod Force One" program. Asked by columnist Miranda Devine when the Russian-Ukrainian war will end, how and where it will end, Vance replied that it was difficult for him to say.

"Every time I've made a private prediction, something has happened a month later. You know, if you'd asked me six months ago, I'd have said, 'They're never going to stop. ' It will become Russia's Vietnam. This will continue all the time. Even after 15 years, there will still be battles," the politician admitted. If this question had been asked a month ago, his answer would have been somewhat different. "We've made incredible progress. So it's hard to take risks," he said.

At the same time, Vance states, both sides found themselves in a difficult situation: "The territory captured by the Russian Federation is so small, but they lose a lot of people. The Ukrainians have problems with electricity, infrastructure and many other things. . . They, of course, suffer from many problems. They themselves have many casualties in the war. " According to him, Putin thought that it would be a war for one or two weeks, and he would easily achieve his goals.

"Now, four years later, he is losing thousands and thousands of Russian soldiers every month," says the guest on the air. That is why, he says, the White House believes that the moment has come when both Russia and Ukraine "will benefit from stopping hostilities. " "But listen, the president can only open the door. He cannot force the parties to enter it," the US vice president emphasized.
