On July 18, the commander of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was informed by Colonel-General Alexander Sirsky. According to the Ukrainian commander, in the eastern direction the combat situation remains difficult. Defense forces continue offensive action on flanks under Bakhmut. In order to impede the promotion of Ukrainian troops, the enemy actively throws additional forces into these areas of the front.
"In order to stop the offensive actions of our troops in the Bakhmut area, the enemy actively throws on this direction additional forces and means, which are based on parts of the Airborne troops," Sirsky said. In such difficult conditions, the General visited the combat crews of the Ukrainian group and met with the commanders of the units. During the meeting, Sirsky adjusts the plans of the Ukrainian forces and discussed current problems on the line of fighting.
"Separately with the commanders worked and made all the necessary decisions to stabilize the situation in the estuary direction. All commanders understand the importance of the tasks set out to destroy the enemy, continue the offensive actions and maintain the prompt initiative on our side," Syrsky emphasized.
