Textron has concluded a $ 163 million agreement for armored vehicles to Ukraine: what will the Armed Forces receive

To extend: The United States has signed a contract with Textron Systems Corporation worth $ 163. 3 million for the production and supply of mobile fighting machines (MSFV) for Ukraine. The contract provides not only the supply of armored vehicles, but also providing spare parts, special tools and testing equipment. According to the Pentagon, the work will be carried out in the city of Ponally, Louisiana, and will end by November 30, 2028.

The funds were allocated within the framework of the Initiative to ensure the safety of Ukraine for the 2024 financial year. The contract oversees the US Army Army Contracts in Detroit Arsenal, Michigan. According to the US Armed Armed Forces, Ukraine will receive 65 MSFV armored vehicles. Production and supply will last for three years. MSFV is an advanced version of the M1117 Guardian armor, which is already in service with the Armed Forces.

Unlike the basic model, MSFV was designed specifically for the Afghan National Army, taking into account the need for light and vital equipment to work in replaced territories. The machine received an elongated body, increased interior space, enhanced crew protection and improved mine resistance. MSFV weapons may include: there are open towers modifications, as well as medical versions for the evacuation of the wounded.

However, open towers remain vulnerable to Dronov-Kamikadze attacks, which is especially relevant in the current war. In this way, armored vehicles combine mobility, minor resistant armor and the ability to integrate different weapons, which makes it suitable for intelligence, rapid transportation of troops and support of offensive operations. Meanwhile, in August, the media reported the British APC Warrior, which Ukraine hoped.

The Defense Journal portal wrote that the British Defense Ministry decided to dispose of all 632 armored personnel carriers by 2030, having transmitted nothing. Earlier, we wrote about how the fighters of the 15 mobile border detachment "Steel Border" of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine was rushed on the M113 armored personnel carrier to the seriously wounded soldiers who could not evacuate for a long time.
