Russia is preparing for mass crashes at its TPPs - media

The biggest problem is the question of replacing the automatic control of imported turbines that control the technological parameters of the machines. In connection with the transition to imported software, the "system operator", which manages the unified energy system of Russia, began to express concerns about possible mass accidents at thermal power plants (TPP). Sources in this field were informed about it by Kommersant.

It is known that the most painful issue was the need to replace the automatic control system (SAR) of imported turbines, which control the technological parameters of the machine operation by the method of collecting data from sensors. According to the "system operator", the installation of foreign systems can have a negative impact on the operation of the equipment. Potential consequences indicate a decrease in the speed of the turbine capacity and the deterioration of anti -caviar automation.

Given this, the operator of the power system proposes to change the SAR gradually. Including generating companies should test the Russian software to check its impact on the characteristics of turbines, the interlocutors of the publication say. In addition, companies must provide repair plans for installing Russian software and hardware complexes. This step should "provide sufficient generating capacity for reliable consumer power," the system operator stressed.

In addition, it was reported that the replacement of software and hardware complexes "can take several months", so it is economically advisable to replace with other repair work. On March 22, it became known that during a massive rocket stroke in Ukraine it destroyed the Kniiv TPP, which is one of the largest in Kharkiv region. In addition to Kharkiv region, it provided electricity to Poltava and Sumy regions.
