The concern of the invaders through the future attempt of Ukraine to go through the Dnieper to the occupied part of the Kherson region has led to the development of leading positions. Russian sources in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation claim that the Armed Forces allegedly strengthen the long -term positions on the islands on the Dnieper and on the left bank of the Kherson region.
Therefore, it is argued that the occupiers actively equip the leading positions on the temporarily occupied left bank of the Dnieper: build engineering fortifications and mine fields. The Ukrainian military observer Konstantin Mashovets, who is referred to the ISW, says that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have been installed at least three mine fields near Kakhovka and Little Kakhovka.
They also actively rebuild the Crimean bridge to support the supply of troops in the south in winter. In addition, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are preparing for defense in the Crimean direction. The enemy intensified the group of Dnipro troops and the Guard of Crimea, which should defend the temporarily occupied Crimea. The total number of Russian troops in Zaporizhzhia, Kherson regions and in the Crimea, according to Mashovets, is more than 75 thousand fighters.
