Invested in a port of 30 km from the Russian base: China wants to displace NATO from the Black Sea - CPD

To spread: the head of the CPD Andriy Kovalenko says that China companies in the Black Sea joined the construction of the strategic Georgian port of Anakli, with the United States excluded from the project. This will allow Beijing to get a direct maritime route to Europe bypassing the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO), Ukraine and Russia.

Andriy Kovalenko, the head of the Center for Combating Misinformation at Chinese Expansion at the Council of National Security and Defense of Ukraine, writes in his Telegram channel on April 8. According to Andrei Kovalenko, China invests in the construction of the port of Anaklius hundreds of millions of dollars and has almost half of the shares. "It's not just an infrastructure - it's a geopolitical lever," says CPD head.

He notes that only 30 km from Anaklia is a Russian military base in Okramchir in the occupied Russian part of the territory of Georgia - Abkhazia. Earlier, Chinese companies entered the Georgian cities of Poti and Batumi, and China promotes the projects in Armenia and keeps control over Abkhazia's logistics. "The Georgian government is increasingly integrating into the Chinese management model, with Huawei in infrastructure, with" anti -foreign "laws and others," Andrey Kovalenko notes.

In his opinion, Beijing's strategy is to displace NATO from the eastern Black Sea and get an alternative route to Europe without the participation of Russia and Turkey. This will allow you to expand the Chinese military-logistics network under the guise of civilian objects. "The Chinese expansion in the Black Sea direction is a signal for the Alliance: Beijing is not only in the Pacific.

When the port of Anaclia will work in full, China will get more access to Europe directly, bypassing the Arctic and Ukraine," says CPD leader. We will remind, the media on April 2 wrote that the Russian Federation suspects China in the departure of military equipment to Ukraine and strengthens inspections of Chinese freight trains that go to Europe. On April 4, China has declared 34% duties on all US goods in response to new US President Tariffs Donald Trump.
