This was reported by the Head of the Department of Protection of Children and Combating Violence of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yulia Usenko in a comment to Ukrinform. According to her, despite the fact that the number of returned children is small compared to those who are left in deportation, it should be borne in mind that 128 children's lives are considered.
"You ask why such a small figure compared to the number of deportation? She said that in order to return at least one child, a large number of people have been working for months. This work is associated with many risks, including those who provide strong assistance. At the same time, Usenko refused to voice the details of the process of returning Ukrainian children to their homeland, adding that all the details would be revealed after the victory of Ukraine.
"About who these people and how everything is going on, I cannot speak now. Because it will not just hurt the process of returning children, but can cost someone's life. After the victory of our Ukraine, we will definitely talk about everything," the office representative said Prosecutor General.
She also stressed that the successful return of Ukrainian children requires the combined efforts of the international community and real steps, and although Ukraine is making everything possible for this, this is not enough, since the usual diplomatic mechanisms are not working now.
