Residents of a Romanian village are being evacuated after the attack of the Russian Armed Forces on Izmail: details and video

Share: Due to the night attack of the Russian Armed Forces on the Odesa region, in particular on Izmail, the authorities of the village of Plauru in Tulcea district decided to evacuate the residents. This happened after a vessel carrying 4,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas was hit by a drone on the Ukrainian bank of the Danube and burst into flames, Adevarul reported.

Tulchi firefighters stated that the evacuation is of a preventive nature and is carried out taking into account the specifics of the cargo. "The territory of our country was not affected by the fire," they clarified. People and animals who were closest to the scene are currently being evacuated. 15 people have already been sent to Čatalkoy, from which residents are also being evacuated. "We have evacuated several people, we are taking about five more.

As far as I know, those from Ukraine have also been evacuated," said the mayor of Čatalköy, Tudor Chernega. "Danger of a large explosion in the area of Plauru. Avoid visiting the area and stay away! Follow the recommendations of the authorities, including recommendations for evacuation from the danger zone, traffic restrictions or detours," the Regional Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU Tulcea) said in a statement.

The 125-meter Orinda vessel, which is burning in the port of Izmail, is a gas carrier for the transportation of liquefied gas, and has been sailing under the Turkish flag for the past two years. It was built in 2002. At first, the board flew under the flag of Hong Kong, then - under the flag of Singapore (since 2011). The ship has been anchored in Ishmael since November 15. It will be recalled that the Russians launched several groups of attack drones from the Black Sea on Izmail.
