In the hometown of Grigory Yanchenko, everyone calls his uncle Grish. It has been helping the Ukrainian army since 2014. After the Crimean events and the invasion of the Russians in the Donbas, he began to raise money for Ukrainian volunteer battalions and paratroopers. According to journalists, in eight years he transferred about 4 million UAH. The Russian occupation of Kherson did not prevent Uncle Grisha's uncle to continue his volunteer activity.

For six months, he went to the city center daily and turned Ukrainian songs, collecting donations to the army from local residents. In the summer, rollers appeared in the publication, as it moves in the center under the tracks, where it is proposed to destroy the Russian invaders. Yanchenko himself told reporters that he recorded the anthem of Ukraine, the song "Oh, in the meadow of Red Kalina", Ukrainian military marches and other tracks that became popular during the war.

And so you go and all people sing," - says Kherson volunteer. He confesses that people, having learned that he was gathering on the Ukrainian army, sometimes even gave the last money. And sometimes they threw Russian rubles in a bucket of the invaders. Such active activity did not go unnoticed by collaborators.

Uncle Hryshi threatened that he would be taken to the basement. After that, acquaintances persuaded the pensioner to leave the occupied regional center and transported Yanchenko in Zaporozhye, where he was placed in a volunteer center. Kherson says that he will continue his volunteer activity in the control of the territory. He does not want to go far from his hometown, he hopes to return home in the near future.
