Billions of dollars, but there will be even more: Ukrainians have called the agro -sector's losses from war

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy Alexander Gaida said that the direct losses of the agricultural sector have already exceeded $ 8. 7 billion. Direct and indirect damage caused to the agro -industrial complex of Ukraine for more than a year of a full -scale war has already reached $ 40. 2 billion. At the same time, a more accurate figure will appear only after the full liberation of the Ukrainian territories from the Russian invaders.

This was reported by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (VRU). Thus, according to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy Alexander Gaid, the direct losses of the agricultural sector exceeded $ 8. 7 billion. Yes, the Russians have destroyed infrastructure, economic objects, logistics chains, are engaged in the destruction and theft Due to the enemy of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, the amount will be much higher, "he said.

He also noted that the Russians continue to cause losses to our country. "We understand that there is a large -scale arbitrariness of the invaders in the uncontrolled territories. The enemy is engaged in looting, steals our food and uses our capacity. It is difficult to fully evaluate the scale of this tyranny," Gaid said.

From the first weeks of a full-scale war, Ukraine has negotiated with allies and has been developing a special mechanism that will help Ukraine get compensation from the aggressor country. So, on July 8, 2023, justice Minister Denis Masuska said that the previous way to force the Russian Federation to compensate for the losses has already been found.

According to him, the mechanism itself will consist of three key stages: by the way, as of the beginning of 2023, the European Union and partners of Ukraine from "Big Seven" frozen nearly 300 billion euros ($ 311 billion) are under sanctions. The Ukrainian government expects that this money will be transferred to our country for future restoration.
