According to militiamen, the Russian general used his relatives to legalize the funds he received from corruption schemes in Moscow. The Security Service of Ukraine arrested the property of the Russian Colonel-General Valery Kapashin, who held the position of Chief of Federal Directorate for Secure storage and destruction of chemical weapons at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. Among the arrested possessions are more than twenty objects of commercial real estate, three thousand square footage of the living space and seventeen areas of land located in the territory of Poltava region. The list of frozen assets contains Kapashin's family home, hotels and premium restaurants, as well as shopping, entertainment and office centers with a total area of ​​about thirty thousand square meters. The total cost of the seized assets is over UAH 1 billion.
