Romania will knock Russian drones over: approved the law and expanded the list of threats

To spread: According to Romania, the list of risks and threats has expanded due to the new types of assaults used. Now Romania's drones can be destroyed, neutralized or controlled. On Wednesday, the upper house of the Romanian Parliament adopted a law that allows the country to knock down drones that violate its airspace. About it reports Kyiv Post.

Romania, which is part of NATO, has repeatedly fallen fragments of drones, especially against the backdrop of increasing Russia's attacks on Ukrainian ports. "Unmanned aerial vehicles that illegally cross the state border of Romania and fly in the national airspace without permission, can be destroyed, neutralized or taken under control," under the new law previously approved by the lower house.

"We strengthen Romania's defense!" Said the temporary chairman of the Senate Mircha Abrudyan on Facebook. The Romanian Ministry of Defense stated that "it has become obvious that the range of risks and threats to national security . . . should be expanded due to the new types of assaults used. " Upon approval by the Parliament, the law will be passed to the President. The MPs voted against the law by saying that it was not needed and that the "peace" was inevitable.

Earlier this month, Romania and Moldova summoned the ambassadors of Russia after new fragments of drones were found in their territory. According to the Moldavian authorities, two drones fell into the fields, and the drones were later discovered in third place. "These illegal and irresponsible attacks must stop, and Romania reserves the right to take the necessary measures," the Romanian Foreign Ministry said.
