According to the military, powerful energy guns will be able to counteract the drones and winged rockets of the enemy, as well as improve the work of navigation systems. The US Navy requires new electromagnetic war and laser weapons technologies to protect ships. In this regard, new developments start, writes Militation Aerospace. The US Navy researchers intend to create a solution for electromagnetic war.

In particular, they are interested in laser weapons and electro -optic sensors to protect the Navy ships from powerful microwaves, lasers, rockets and enemy unmanned aircraft. Recently, representatives of the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) in Washington published a preliminary request (N0017324RGA01) to the project of development, use and testing of powerful electromagnetic systems for research in the field of counteraction technology.

The project involves the development of prototypes that will become "prototypes" of systems for the introduction into the already available ship -electronic battleship systems (EIT). The latter use a wide electromagnetic spectrum, ranging from radio frequencies (RF), millimeter waves and infrared rays. The military is interested in creating technologies for future microwave and laser weapons of directional energy, as well as electrostatic discharge systems (ESD) to combat small drones and UAVs.

Also, these technologies can also be applied to disruption without their further destruction, blindness of sensors and more. In addition, new devices will have to protect the naval systems and civilian infrastructure from the enemy's HPs. Research will be conducted in the field of overcome impulses (USP) and high energies (HE); And also in the field of radio frequency, millimeter, electro -optic and infrared technologies of counteraction to hostile rockets, homemade explosive devices, drones.
