Second after Crocus: Turkey helped prevent a new terrorist attack in Russia - the media

Journalists claim that Vilayat Horasan militants allegedly chosen a crowded shopping center again for a new terrorist attack. The Turkish special services helped prevent the second after the attack on City Hall City Center in Moscow, which intended to organize fighters forbidden in the territory of Russia Vilayat Khorasan. This is discussed in the material of the Turkish edition of Hürriyet. It is noted that a crowded shopping center was selected for a possible terrorist attack.

"Turkish intelligence prevented this second major terrorist attack, having communicated with Moscow," the newspaper writes. It is also known about the involvement of the Vilayat Horasan group in the terrorist organization "ID" (forbidden in Russia). Information on the preparation of the terrorist attack was established after the interrogation of persons related to the activity of the local branch of the organization, which was monitored by the special services of Turkey.

In the future, Turkish security officers contacted the Russian side. The publication notes that the organization's militants are related to the attack on the Catholic Church of St. Mary in Istanbul in January 2024. At the same time, two of the attackers on City Hall City Hall visited Turkey shortly before the terrorist attack, which Turkish law enforcement officers were also informed.
