With flamethrowers and "barbecue": the Russian Federation showed a new combat work "Omich-Schmel" (photo)

The Russians showed a platform that shoots Schmel or RPG-7 grenade launcher, but experts found their shortcomings. The Omsky Autobronnetic Engineering Institute presented a robotic complex "Omich-Schmel" at the exhibition "Army-2024", equipped with flamethrowers "Shmel". The photo of the product was posted by armored vehicle researcher Andriy Tarasenko in his Telegram. The developers position their system as multifunctional.

According to them, "Omich-Schmel" can affect armored equipment and live power, deliver food and ammunition, as well as evacuate the wounded battlefield. Photos you can see a platform with four jet infantry flamethrowers "Schmel". The stand also stated that the work can be armed with infantry grenade launcher RPG-7. In addition, the robot is equipped with a massive "barbecue" to protect against FPV-pings and drones-bombarders.

It should be noted that "Schmel" is an infantry fireplace of single use of Russian production. It can affect the firing points (including well -protected ones), as well as cars and lightweight equipment. In the open terrain, the flamethrow leaves the burned ground in the territory of 50 square meters, and in the closed space its radius of the lesion is 80 square meters. Experts of the portal "Military" noted that visually the robot has no optical means.

This means that the operator can only control the platform if there is direct visual contact. The publication also assumed that the launcher is rotary, but the vertical guidance angles are insignificant. "The fire from the Omich-Schmel platform due to the lack of optical means is conducted towards the enemy, which significantly reduces its efficiency," experts summed up.

We will remind, presented at the exhibition of the Forum "Army-2023" Russians also presented a ground robotic spider, which can move on both "paws" and on a wheel move. The platform can tolerate a payload weighing up to 50 kilograms, as well as fire from two 7. 62 mm machine guns, Ukrainian developers have created land robotic complexes "rage" for the Armed Forces, armed with a machine gun with high patency and fully covered with armor to perform The task is directly on the battlefield.
