The Russian Army wants to buy Manul BMP with an unmanned tower: what is known about the project

The new machine will be based on the previous version of BMP-3, but using the Cornet PTRC and a more powerful engine. The Russian "Kurganmashzavod" is about to put the production of new Manul BMP this year, Defense Express writes. In fact, it will be improved BMP-3, which will undergo some changes. The plant engineers say that Manul will be used not only to support infantry, but also as a base for other combat systems. For example, BMP wants to install a unmanned tower with a machine gun of 7.

62 mm and a Cornet PTRC. Manul will also receive a more powerful engine on 660 horsepower, which will be transferred from the back of the machine to the front. With it, the BMP can accelerate up to 70 km/h. However, all these statements still require confirmation, because recently representatives of the Kurganmash Factory said that they still need at least three years to fully develop and modify the BMP "Manul".
