Staff "brazier" and "capes": the army of the Russian Federation received a party of improved BMP-3

The "cape" kit is designed to reduce the radar visibility of the machine, which makes it less noticeable to enemy radar systems. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation received the next batch of BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, which were equipped with anticumulative lattice, armor screens, as well as kick sets designed to reduce the visibility in the thermal and radar spectrum. This was announced on June 17 by the press service of the State corporation "Rostekh".

The profile Russian edition of "War Obress" writes that the equipment was transferred within the framework of state order, immersed in railway platforms and has already been sent to the customer, but the supply parameters are not disclosed. As a means of reducing the noticeability of the BMP-3, the machines were equipped with king kits. It is a camouflage made of radio absorption material, designed in the Russian Federation to increase the secrecy of various military machines.

Its main function is to absorb and scatter radar waves, thereby reducing the radar cross section (RCS) of the machine. Thus, the enemy radar systems become more difficult to identify and track the BMP-3, which should provide a tactical advantage in the fighting environment. The "cape" also has thermal insulation capabilities. The material is designed in such a way as to minimize the thermal radiation of the machine, which is very important for evasion of detection of thermal imaging systems.

By reducing thermal visibility, camouflage kits complicate thermal imaging devices to distinguish BMP-3 from the environment. This is especially important during night operations or in conditions where thermalistic is largely used for exploration and targeting. Earlier it was reported that the BMP-3 was changed on the basis of the experience of a full-scale war against Ukraine. According to Defense 24, machines have become more resistant to Dronov-Kamikadze attacks and received improved booking.
