According to French instructors, their task is to make Ukrainian soldiers

Secret landfill for the Armed Forces: How Ukrainian soldiers in France - Politico (photo) are taught

According to French instructors, their task is to make Ukrainian soldiers "more deadly and living. " A group of Ukrainian servicemen studies the doctrine of NATO with French instructors before returning to the battlefield. This is a mutually beneficial cooperation because Ukrainians have real combat experience and share it with the French. Politiko said about how training goes. A group of journalists was admitted to the landfill, where Ukrainians and volunteers and conscripts are trained.

For safety reasons, the place of military training, as well as the number of Ukrainian servicemen and their names are strictly classified. The names and titles of French instructors are also classified. The training was designed for a month. The last week of training is to practice the knowledge gained. The military train six days a week from 5:30 to 8:00 pm.

The French teach their Ukrainian colleagues the skills of storming trenches and infantry combat, including hostilities in urban and forest areas. French officers say their task is to make Ukrainian soldiers "more deadly and living. " From France, Ukrainians will return to the battlefield in Ukraine. The training course was adapted after criticism from Ukraine. The essence of the claim was that the NATO doctrine implies an advantage in the air over the enemy, which is not present in the Armed Forces.

The French command notes that since Ukraine probably has the greatest combat experience among all the armed forces in the West, the French military also learn from Ukrainians. One of the additions to the military training program is the widespread use of drones to bring the situation closer to the realities that Ukrainians will face on the battlefield. France pledged this year to teach 7,000 Ukrainians in France and Poland through the EU Military Assistance Mission of Ukraine (EUMAM).

The training program also includes adaptation to stress conditions. Soldiers are taught to be wounded nearby who need help. And to get used to the "smell of death" in the trenches and trenches lay out the corpses of animals. The key reflex that the French are taught is to leave the street as soon as possible and be in shelter because "the street means death.

" In addition, the cadets create the conditions as close as possible to combat: cold, loud sounds of explosions and firing, lack of sleep, sudden night attacks. "When they arrive at the front, it will definitely be, and my role is to limit this shock," one of the French instructors said. According to the French command, instructors and cadets were forbidden to exchange contacts and keep in touch after completing their training.

In addition to security reasons, this is done in order to limit emotional attachments and avoid traumatic effect in the event of the death of Ukrainian servicemen. "When the training course is over, it is time to break the connections. Otherwise, when we find out that someone has died, we will ask the question that we have done wrong," - said the French instructor.

According to the publication, which refers to the French Parliament's report, the training of Ukrainian soldiers costs France about 300 million euros. But the French consider it a win -win option, as their military also develops skills taking into account Ukrainian experience. And the landfill built for the training of Ukrainians will continue to be used for the training of French soldiers. Recall that the Czech Republic continued the training program of the Armed Forces.

According to the Minister of Defense of the Czech Republic, Yana Chernokhova, instructors from the Armed Forces of NATO member countries will be engaged in training of Ukrainian servicemen. Earlier, Focus wrote that Ukraine needs officers, so the event intensified the preparation of the junior command staff of the Armed Forces. Western experts noted that the military leadership of Ukraine understands how important it is to create an officer skeleton in the army.
