The film received the Best Directing Prize at the prestigious Sandance competition in America. And at the 72nd Berlinale within the Panorama program, the tape was awarded the prize of the audience. The focus watched the movie to the premiere: the picture is strong, skillfully filmed, but not without flaws. Its main message, the same as in Cyborgs (2017): the Russian world cannot be negotiated on any conditions.
The plot of the movie "Klondike" shows the life of the Ukrainian family in the Donbass - Irki (Oksana Cherkashina) and Tolik (Sergey Shadrin), who live in the village of Grabove, accidentally finding themselves at the epicenter of the MH17 Malaysia Airlines flight. In the house there is a brother of his wife - Yurik (Oleg Shcherbina). Armed Russian formations and local "militias" come to the village.
Tolik and Yurik are trying to insist that the pregnant Irka is evacuated, but the woman pulls out a rubber rubber . . . The director is Marina Er Gorbach. A Ukrainian who married Turkish director Mehmet Bagadier Era and lives in Istanbul. This is the fourth full -length picture that the couple does together. The man became a producer. The director said so about her film: "For me, this picture is a" rocket "against the fear of military aggression by Russia, first of all for himself.
" Klondike "appeared at the intersection of powerlessness to stop the war and deep respect and gratitude to those who defend Ukraine. And it is a dream of peace in Ukraine. " The focus has already disassembled the Slavic paintings that got "Oscar" in the "Best Foreign Film" category. All of them met three conditions: in the picture "Klondike", though, take away social tension - the first condition was met. As for the second, the film has caused considerable resonance in the world.
At the American Festival "Sandent" within the framework of World Dramatic Competition, Marina Er Gorbach was awarded the Best Direction Prize. And in February, Klondike was shown on the 72nd Berlinale in the Panorama program, where the tape received a prize of viewers' sympathies. As for the third paragraph, there is a question. The movie "Klondike" virtually shows the everyday life of the war - through the prism of inhabitant life: somewhere in the background, a rocket plant drove.
Then there was an explosion - a whipped liner fell. Fire trucks and ambulances have gone to the place of falling the passenger plane . . . In the family that waits for the baby, the light will disappear in the house, then water - millions of Ukrainians are now experiencing the same household inconvenience. However, Irka and Tolik try not to pay attention to it and do not sympathize with the dead passengers of the Malaysian Boeing.
Their house is really from the edge: in the village, on a separate farm with three houses. Irka, Tolik and Yurik are people from the category "Village and in Africa Village". In the movie, we see the same social slice that in the picture "Prykok" (2017) is a slow existence of rural residents. They are also shown here without much sympathy - with small strife and disassembly on a surzhik. Only one serious creature named the war lies through the mud just to the house - the war of the Russian World.
The most bold and animal part of it is shown by Chechens. And around the house of our heroes - the incredible beauty of the sun steppe, filled with a light haze (the stunning work of the operator Svyatoslav Bulakovsky). But this war, of course, prevents it from living normally - from the "arrival" a hole in the wall of the house. The rocket broke the wallpapers with palm trees and sea.
The cozy life is broken near the hole, as near the abyss, where it is increasingly "tightening" and the characters of the movie. Although there are such ordinary household items near the hole as an electric kettle and a microwave, giving a ghostly hope that "everything will be in place. " But already the war that started in 2014, settled enmity in their home: there is a permanent conflict between Tolik and Yurik: the first is a supporter in Kyiv.
Securing the hole, he grunts under his nose: "We build, they destroy. " Irka tries to reconcile relatives and once even accelerates them with a jet of water, as police officers - protesters. The woman constantly thinks about the approaching childbirth, but the alarming cello music of the Georgian composer of the Mgebryshvili Zajadi creates a gloomy atmosphere of waiting for something much more scary than childbirth. Cons of the tape - the lack of dynamics and transformation of characters.
There are also questions about the scenario: why did Tolik be admitted that he was aware of the one who knocked down the liner? I didn't see or see. Pros - fascinating aesthetics of the tape, accurate actors play and a clear ideological message. Sergei Shadrin has just distinguished himself in the colorful role of the bandit in Maxim Axis, and there is even more vivid work - the role of Tolik. Unfortunately, the actor died in 2021, and now, in 2022, a row of sign films with his participation.
As for the name of the painting, the analogy between "gold fever" and "military fever", which then covered the East of Ukraine, is given a somewhat far -fetched (from the military - no one is rich). The ideological message of the movie "Klondike" is unambiguous and clear: the Russian world brings death to all - both supporters and their opponents. It is impossible to agree with it by definition. Has its tasks far from people's interests and their views.
