The USS F-1 submarine sank in seconds after it was badly damaged as a result of collision with another US Navy submarine. The discovery made by American marine archaeologists was the first case of detection and examination of the fragments of the submarine since its flooding. Now it lies at the bottom of the sea at a depth of more than 400 meters.

It is too deep for divers, so the fragments were examined with the help of underwater research apparatus. According to him, scientists of the submarine USS F-1 conducted operational tests when the accident occurred. At the same time, two more submarines of the US Navy passed. The USS F-3 submarine collided with USS F-1 and after the collision of the USS F-3 remained in place to help save those who survived. 19 crew members were sunk as a result of the accident and three were rescued.

Scientists have calculated the approximate place of the submarine accident using the US Navy archive records and found a sunken submarine on the first day of search. The F-1 submarine now lies on the right side: the study has shown that it has surprisingly preserved after more than 100 years of stay underwater. This boat became a burial place for 19 crew members who died during the accident.

Scientists also discovered the fragments of the Torpedon Bomber Bomman TBF Avenger of the US Navy, which crashed in the same area when it was used as a training aircraft in 1950. Before that, the exact location of the aircraft remained unknown. As focus wrote, archaeologists found that cats were domesticated later than we thought and did horrible things with them before.
